This
was another unusual car for us to feature
here on the Latham Register website, but an
appropriate guest in the form of a 1991 Lotus
Elan SE Turbo.
The
car had only done 32,000 miles from new, and
had been in the hands of the same owner
since 1998.
With
such a low mileage, and having been dry stored
and lovingly maintained for all its life, this
Elan must have been one of the best of its
kind available at the time. The car is painted
in a rich, metallic peacock blue with immaculate
black interior.
Although
on SORN declaration, the Lotus was
regularly started, run, and driven on private
roads to ensure everything was properly exercised
and in good order.
The
car came with a full service history, as well
as Lotus Mechanical and Electrical Service
Manuals and an extra spare wheel.
Typically
a car of this quality and low mileage would
command a premium, but the owner had relocating
abroad and was keen to
sell, which accounted for the low asking price
of £8500.

The
car was sold in January 2012.
